RUTH HIRST

Director & Event Producer

Ruth initially established her first traditional events company back in 1995 and had an impressive, successful and dynamic career in both Australia and the UK. The Synergy Effect was born out of her combined passion for translating fresh ideas into action utilising technology, establishing Ruth as a trailblazer in the hybrid live events space. A creative, commercially astute leader, Ruth is driven by seeing her clients succeed beyond their wildest expectations and obsessed with delivering seamless relationships between strategy and execution.

MICHAEL FLECK

Director & Event Producer

Michael has had an impressive career, consisting of over 30 years in the events and production space, bringing complex event design solutions to life. He has been instrumental in designing and leading the shift across in-person to hybrid and online solutions. Mike thrives on challenging global partners with the adage – what would you love to do but haven’t been able to, yet – giving them the freedom to create. He finds the adrenalin of live-action and guest response that makes our work so satisfying. Mike strives to improve on each new project with innovation and technology.

Senior Event Manager

Rosie has a robust background in hospitality business management and operations, with extensive experience in creating seamless and memorable experiences for clients. She crafts creative and innovative events that leads from a solution-based ethos, sets high standards to connect people that delivers the most outstanding results. From risk-planning, to supplier management, to on-site execution, Rosie constantly leaves a lasting impression and demonstrates her passion for bringing unique visions to life

DEBORAH BAIRD

Event & Business Support Specialist

A professional event manager with both national and international experience, Deborah is driven by three passion, purpose and perseverance. She prides herself on being super organised, having astute attention to the smallest of details, and a complete understanding of what’s needed and when it’s needed. Her greatest passion is achieving client’s expectations and delivering perfectly planned and well organised events.

Emily Thomas
EMILY THOMAS

Financial Controller

A qualified bookkeeper and astute in business, Emily controls all aspects of the event budget. ensuring clients budgets are kept tight from the planning stage to post event reporting.  Emily’s passion is analytics, which she leverages to ensures nothing is missed during the planning stage and eliminates costly surprises.

JOSEPH MICHAEL

Media and Production Coordinator

 

Coming from a background in filmmaking and screenwriting, Joseph’s passion for visual art, design, and content creation has developed through recent experience in assisting with media elements for broadcasting and live production. Working on a wide range of deliverables, Joseph’s ongoing attention to detail and eye for aesthetics allows him to express his ideas creatively and assist in bringing client briefs to life.

Laura has a passion for creating unforgettable experiences. She is a behind-the-scenes expert who makes projects happen through great problem solving and paying attention to detail. She is a team player who loves bringing creative ideas to life by working collaboratively with others. Whether it’s a big event or a corporate meeting, she makes sure everything runs smoothly and is unforgettable.

COLIN BALDWIN

Production Manager

Colin has decades of experience in the special events industry providing unique solutions for all kinds of events, including high quality audio, vision, lighting and staging equipment supported by professional a talented crew.  With a stellar history and a passion for delivering live events, it is fair to say Colin has helped shape live entertainment and corporate productions in Australia and is an expert is his field.

SEAN COSTELLO

Media Producer

Sean’s career is impressive, having designed some of Australia’s premier events including the Australian Commercial Radio Awards and the Tamworth Country Music Awards. Combining his love of music and audio knowledge with vision excites Sean giving him a sense of creative freedom and versatility allowing him to connect with my clients on different levels.

SAM NAYAL

Travel Manager

 

Sam’s had the privilege of heading up the travel division in the events space for many years and his experience demonstrates this. During her career Sam has held senior positions across the travel industry including retail, touring and group travel. She says, none have been as inspiring as working alongside the Synergy Events team, or as gratifying as the relationships she has established with the clients.

ALISON WARD

Graphic Designer

Alison is a highly creative Graphic Designer, bringing to life her skills creating event visuals and key graphics for Synergy Clients. Driving projects from the initial brief to design, through to finished art, execution and delivery. An adaptive designer, she enjoys pushing the creative boundaries to maximise budget and to deliver results that exceed expectation.

ROD MORRIS

Technical Director

Rod is a talented veteran with over 40 years living and breathing screen production – ranging from corporate videos, TVCs to internationally released feature films. His expertise is in providing technology solutions for broadcast and corporate events.  Current projects such as The Chase, Hard Quiz and Think Tank.

PHIL DYER

Set Build Manager

Phil fell into the industry due to my joinery and shop-fitting skills and for 20+ years has designed and built large scale event and exhibition sets for the world’s largest brands.  He is excited by creativity, the design challenge and the excitement around every event. Each one is different and challenge’s Phil to strive for the best result every day.

 

BRUCE WANG

China Operations Manager

 

Bruce Wang (王志勇 Wang Zhiyong) has been an integral part of Synergy Effect’s operations in China since 2010. He is responsible for both procurement of China based services as well as being our point of contact for clients before, during and after events. Bruce is an all-rounder, at ease with satellite operations, production crews and customer briefings.
